Itaal Shur is a composer, producer and musician.

He is most know for writing the song “Smooth” with Rob Thomas for Santana which received the Grammy award for “Best song of the Year in 1999″ and went on to help sell over 25 million copies. In addition he was nominated for the Best song of the year at the Latin Grammys for the song “Mas Y Mas” by Robi Rosa in 2004.

He has written songs for Maxwell, Jewel, Santana, Ricky Martin, Cyndi Lauper, Lucy Woodward and more. He was a founding member of the Groove Collective and has put out various solo projects under different names such as Milk and Honey and Big Muff.
